Now this is just AWESOME!!  I don't know about you but I have the dreaded master bath mirror from hell.  What to do with it?!  I have been wondering that far too long.  Guess what?  Now I know.  Thanks to the genius at Sweet Pickens we can knock this out in a day.  Lots of pictures on three different mirrors and tons of other projects she has done.  I love this blog and after seeing this you will too!

Here is what most of us are staring at:

Now look at this transformation:

Do you just love that?  No doubt I do.  I will be heading.....no be-lining to the hardware store.

Best part is she has step-by-step instructions with photos to go along with this tutorial.  Check out all her other goodies while you are there.  No disappointments I promise.

Stella-Spring Skirt

We have to enjoy the spring weather here in Texas, because it doesn't last long!  Take a peek at my little Stella-Spring skirt.  This is such a pretty blue I can't stand it!  Fabricworm is the best place to buy fabric, especially if you do a lot with fat quarters like I me.

Here's a close-up of the top piece.  You can see the yellow circles have the same green around them like the bottom of the skirt.  Matchey Matchey!

I have a stack of these cute skirts.  I make them in all sizes and different fabrics.  They are so cute with leggings, which I also make, but now my little friends are wearing sandals with them.

A Very Different Spring Break

I've had so much fun creating my blog this week and making endless lists of all the creations I want to share.  Some are mine and some are those I have found on the blogs I love.  There are so many seriously creative people out there!  They are all so inspiring.  Then again the realization that my spring break is almost over, back to work on Monday, makes my mind wander.  I am proud of what I have accomplished this week, but my head is swirling back to the memories of how I spent this time last year.  It was a week of romance, discovery, laughter, and love.  This time around I have spent most of my time alone letting those memories get the best of me.  The butterflies in my stomach that would pop up with every phone call, every text, while I waited for him to pull up, and just seeing him smile at me have been gone for so long.  I loved looking over at him and he was already staring.  Now when my phone lights up from a call or a text it's rarely from who I want it to be.  When I do hear from him my heart races and a smile lights up my face just from the idea that at that moment he thought of me.  I always wonder if he has any idea what my life has been like since the day he was no longer in it.  Yes, I know speak the truth even if your voice shakes, but I can never find the words to tell him.

Even through all the hurt, tears, and unbelievable sadness I feel.....I do feel courageous in allowing myself to feel and be truthful to myself and every now and them to him.  For once in my life I am not going to push that away and put on my strong, independent face because of my pride or worst of all my fears.  There is something inside me that says there is another chapter to this story.  It may not be the outcome I want, but I have never felt this way before with or without him.  There is a reason for that - this I know for sure.  Sometimes no matter how much you want for things to happen all you can do is wait.  And usually waiting is the hardest part.

Did I mention.....Anthropolgie Knockoff!  That's right put that $208.00 back in your pocket and let's take a look....

Look at this little cutie!  After a day at the mall - have you seen the prices of kiddo clothes lately?  I decided to de-stress when I got home and make a pattern. Viola!  The Lily Pop skirt has no elastic and it is quite comfy for your little one.

This is for sale in my Etsy store and my eBay store.  It can be made to size.  I did have some requests for an elastic waist, which can totally be done.

Here's a true find - never mind a must do...

I Love Rehabs is always full of great inspiration.  Floor mirrors make a statement, and unfortunately so does the price.  This little tidbit shows you how to do it for around $20.

I am totally doing this one!  Pics will come soon.

Can you say GROOVY?  I am just in love with this furry and fuzzy lamp.  It's a Target bargain on the clearance shelf.  It's not dim either.  My desk just got a little fancier.

My first DIY project.  Do you just LOVE this fabric?  My new best friends at Fabric Decor literally have a warehouse of bolts to get lost in.

Here I go.....

Creative? Me? Absolutely not. I was never able to draw a straight line much less cut anything without folding it first. I would make a pot of coffee and spend countless mornings reading DIY and sewing blogs. I could only hope to be that creative. One Saturday I decided to go buy some fabric and reupholster a chaise lounge I was tired of complaining about. How hard could it be? Anything is better than what it looks like now. I spent the rest of the day shopping at a wholesale fabric place - FUN! Then I came home and did it. Yes - that's right I DID IT! I was so proud of my accomplishment, and it had been so fun and therapeutic. I started going to garage sales, thrift stores, and for Christmas I got a sewing machine. So here I am now making patterns, designing the cutest kids clothes on the planet, and working on all the furniture I have acquired. Now it's time I share not only my creations, but how this has helped me stand a little taller. Some days I feel optimistic and some days I feel beaten. My purpose is simple...find strength in my story and share yours or simply just enjoy my creations.
